Today is the last day where we will be using Todd Parr's book, "The Earth Book," and finishing up our Creative Writing activity. I hope you had fun regardless of whichever option you chose.

Creative Writing
Today, your child should aim to complete their Creative Writing activity. However, if they would like to continue working on it to make it even better during the weekend, do praise and encourage them! Otherwise, it should take around 10 - 15 minutes to complete Part 2 of their Creative Writing activity today.
Option 1
Build a bug using recycled products around the house.
Part 1: Build a bug using things you can reuse and recycle around your house.
Part 2: Write or talk about your bug.
Tip:
What is the name of your bug? What kind of bug is it? What are some of its features? What does it do? How does it help the earth?
Adaptation: Draw a picture of your bug instead of building it.
Adaptation: Create the bug with your child.
Extension: Make a home for your bug.
Option 2
Go on a Nature Walk.
Part 1: While practicing safe distancing, go on a walk outside or in the yard with a parent/guardian.
Part 2: Write or talk about your walk.
Tip:
What are some of the things you saw on your Nature Walk? What things did you see that were good for the environment? What things did you see that weren't so good for the environment? How do you think you can change that? What can you do?
Adaptation: Take pictures while you walk outside.
Extension: Play some safe outdoor activity games.
Message from Ms. Zhu
I hope you were able to learn some new things about how to take care of our Earth. Each one of us can help the earth. It begins with just one person. Don't forget to upload a picture of your child's work or of your child working on their e-Portfolios on Portal. Thank you and have a wonderful weekend!
